M.J. Brutus traces his ancestry through his parents to two of the most famous tyrannicides in Rome’s history – maybe a portent to his role in the assassination of Julius Caesar. The Obverse depicts Lucius Junius Brutus – Rome’s semi-mythical first consul, responsible for the expulsion of the last King of Rome. The reverse depicts Gaius Servilius Structus Ahala, famous for assassinating Spurius Maelius – a wealthy plebian who had been plotting to make himself king!
