The silver double siglos of King Kroisos (c. 561–546 BC) is an exceptionally rare denomination within the Croeseid series, struck in far smaller numbers than the more commonly encountered sigloi and fractional pieces. Because of its large size and limited production in the earliest bimetallic coinage system, surviving examples are seldom seen on the market and are highly prized by collectors of early Greek coinage.
