The Lemovices were a Gallic tribe from central-western France, known for their involvement in the resistance against Julius Caesar during his conquest of Gaul. Despite their efforts, they were defeated in 51 BCE at Alesia, along with other tribes, during Caesar’s final campaigns to subdue the Gallic uprising.
